FARM STORE soft OPENING

Well, it’s about time and we are so thrilled!!

Everyone has been working hard to open this Saturday, June 15th, from 10am-4pm. Consider this a very soft opening, as we are still under construction, but we have all the basics to open up shop, beautiful veggies to sell, and a happy farmer (or two!) to talk to.

 

THE WEEK IN PICTURES

We’ve been so busy pushing to get the the weekly tasks done as we take on more harvesting each day. This week we were able to catch up on greenhouse work, start prepping a new field down the road, and get a good amount of orders out the door. While we have started to see some things go past in the nursery (sorry escarole and lettuce!) we should be able to get lots of planting in next week.

Last week; transplanting summer squash and laying plastic for peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, melons, and cucumbers.

Getting the first pick off our second planting of summer squash. Soon our farm schedule will be entirely controlled by the squash harvest!

I can never get enough of the sunset light filtering through the greenhouse.

First real tomato crop since 2015! Expertly fertilized, planted, pruned, and tied by our team.

This time of year we make an effort to take crop walks a couple times a week. Plants grow so quickly with all the daylight, warm temps, and weekly rain. So many new crops coming close to maturity!! I think the whole crew is most excited about broccolini and cucumbers.

 

FARM SHARE CARDS

This is an excellent way to get your fill of veggies at a reduced price! Cards may be used at our stand at the Great Barrington Farmers Market and at our farm store on-site.

There are three tiers available:

  • $150 purchase = $165 card

  • $300 purchase = $345 card

  • $500 purchase = $600 card

The most perfect shelling peas we’ve ever grown. Absolutely delicious, and my favorite type of pea.

Zucchini doesn’t get more perfect than this. Not too small, not too big. A high gloss indicates perfect maturity.
