MX Morningstar Farm, established in 2014, is a certified organic vegetable farm located in the heart of Claverack, NY. It is run by partners Max Morningstar and Maria Zordan, and managed with the help of dedicated and talented managers and staff.
The vast majority of the farm’s produce is sold to wholesale, restaurant and processing customers. The farm also runs a small and highly curated CSA program, and grows a wide variety of crops for its on-site farm store. Currently, about 30 acres of diversified vegetables are grown each season, with an emphasis on potatoes, sweet potatoes, fall root crops, and winter squash.
Each year the farm invests in machinery and equipment, to increase efficiencies and preserve the bodies of the hardworking people that do this work day in and day out; we are always looking for ways to improve the quality of the work we do!
One of our strengths is a shared longterm vision of our farm; one that rallies around a strong and dedicated core group of farmers to manage and grow the business in a manner consistent with our values, while providing a good quality of life to farmers. We are seeking people who share these values and that are excited to join us in pursuing this vision.
